Item Description

Thermon BSX self-regulating heating cables are for use with trace heating installations, typically to regulate temperature, maintain viscosity and prevent freezing of pipes, tanks and other equipment which carries liquids. Suitable for use in commercial, industrial and domestic applications, Thermon trace heating cables offer energy-efficient heating and temperature maintenance due to a clever self-regulating element that varies its heat output in accordance with changes in the ambient temperature across the length of a circuit. 

Thermon BSX cables can be used on metallic and non-metallic surfaces and are certified for use in both ordinary (nonclassified) and hazardous (classified) areas. Available in six different variants :

Thermon BSX cables have a complex multilayer construction and offer industry-leading build quality. The core consists of nickel-plated copper bus wires (16 AWG) embedded within radiation cross-linked semiconductive heating matrix, followed by radiation cross-linked dielectric insulation. This is surrounded by a tinned copper braid, and a polyolefin over-jacket to provide additional protection where exposure to aqueous inorganic chemicals is expected. The FOJ variant offers a fluoropolymer over-jacket which offers additional protection where exposure to organic chemicals and corrosives is expected.
